A local air conditioning business that puts advice first

We design, install, service and repair air conditioning for homeowners, landlords and businesses in York and the surrounding area. Some jobs are a single unit in a stuffy loft bedroom. Others are multi-room systems for offices, shops and hospitality venues.

The idea behind all of it is simple. The right system is the one that suits the room, the building and the person paying for it. So we ask questions before recommending anything, explain the options plainly and let you decide without any pressure.

Who we work with

Families wanting a cooler bedroom. Landlords fitting out a let. Small businesses with a stuffy shop floor, and offices where the afternoon heat drags everyone down. They all want different things, silence at night for some and minimal disruption during trading hours for others, and we plan around that.

Why York shapes the way we work

York’s buildings vary hugely. There are stone and brick terraces inside conservation areas, and new-build estates on the edge of the city. Thick walls, narrow yards, listed façades and busy streets all affect where units can go and how the pipework runs. We sort those details out at the survey, not on the day.

How we handle each job from start to finish

  1. Listening first

We start by understanding the problem: which rooms overheat, how they’re used, and whether you want heating as well as cooling.

  2. Looking at the building

Where needed we survey the property, measure up, check the walls and the electrical supply, and talk through unit positions with you.

  3. Putting it in writing

You get a clear quote listing the equipment, positions, pipe route, electrical work and making good.

  4. Fitting with care

On the day we protect floors and furniture, work tidily and keep you posted on progress.

  5. Testing and explaining

We pressure-test, commission and demonstrate the system, then talk you through filters, settings and servicing.

The principles we work by

Honest recommendations

We suggest what the space needs, not the biggest system we could sell. Sometimes that means one unit instead of three.

Clarity at every stage

Clear quotes, realistic timings and explanations in plain English, so nothing catches you out.

Careful craftsmanship

Straight pipe runs, level units and tidy trunking. Work that looks right and does what it should.

Respect for your property

Dust sheets, careful drilling and a clean finish, in a family home or a busy shop alike.

Workmanship standards on every installation

How a system is fitted matters as much as the equipment. These are the standards we hold ourselves to on every job.

Inside your property

  • Indoor units mounted level, at the right height and clear of obstructions
  • Pipework and cables run in neat trunking or concealed where practical
  • Condensate drained with a proper fall or a suitable condensate pump
  • Floors and furnishings protected and the work area cleaned at the end

Outside and behind the scenes

  • Outdoor units positioned with airflow, noise and neighbours in mind
  • Wall penetrations sealed and finished neatly
  • Electrical work carried out in line with the Wiring Regulations, with a local isolator where required
  • The refrigerant circuit pressure-tested and the system commissioned before handover

What working with us looks like

Before any work is booked

You’ll get a straight answer on whether air conditioning is right for the space, what type of system we’d suggest and why. If anything needs checking with the council or a freeholder, we’ll tell you up front. Our contact page lists what’s useful to include when you get in touch.

On installation day

We turn up when agreed, go through the plan with you again and protect the areas we’re working in. A single wall-mounted system is usually done in a day. Bigger jobs are planned around your home or business.

Once the system is running

We explain the controls and the simple jobs that keep it efficient. When it needs attention later on, our servicing, maintenance and repair services are there.

Homes, workplaces and the areas we serve

We work across York and the villages and market towns nearby. The full list is on our areas we cover page. It takes in suburbs like Acomb and Haxby and towns further out such as Selby and Wetherby.

Do you only fit new systems?

No. As well as new installations we service, maintain and repair existing systems, including ones other installers fitted. People often ring because a unit has stopped cooling properly, started dripping or hasn’t been serviced in years.

When we’ll tell you not to buy more

Being straight with people sometimes means talking them out of spending money. If a smaller unit, fewer indoor units or a different position will do the job, we’ll tell you.

When a simpler system makes more sense

If one room is the problem, one well-sized wall-mounted unit often beats a whole-house multi-split. We’ll explain the trade-offs and leave the choice with you.

When air conditioning isn’t the whole answer

Sometimes shading, ventilation or insulation will do more than cooling equipment. Sometimes a repair makes more sense than a replacement. We’d rather say so than fit something you didn’t need.

Examples of this in practice

  • Suggesting blinds or solar film alongside a smaller unit in a glass-heavy room
  • Recommending a service or repair on a working system instead of a new one
  • Advising against an outdoor unit position that would annoy the neighbours, even if it’s the cheapest route
